Simply create an account on MyTurn and buy a membership. After that, come in during our hours, fill out our printed user application & agreement, and show valid state-issued ID or license. There is no residency requirement, anyone can join!
See what tools we have by browsing our inventory online, or just come in to our location. We can lend you any of our 3,300+ available tools for whatever project or repair you need them for.
After your done with your tool, make sure to clean it up before returning it once it's due! Depending on the tool you can renew it for another checkout, otherwise you’ll have to pay a late fee. Some high-demand items may have a shorter checkout period.
With a little bit of paperwork, a little bit of computer work, you're in; easy as that! Though being a member of the tool library is free for all, we do have suggested donations.
Inventory accuracy is not guaranteed; please contact us with specific questions or requests. We do not carry pressure washers, paint sprayers, or gas-powered tools.

Every donation helps us expand the community
The West Seattle Tool Library is a non-profit that relies solely on your generous donations to continue and develop our operations. Every dollar counts!
Do you have tools that you don't use? Give them new life and donate them to the Tool Library. We can even repair them.
There are many ways to volunteer for the Tool Library. Please contact us if you are interested! You can even exchange volunteer hours for shop hours and tool lending.
The Tool Library is located in the back of the building under the breezeway. The library faces on to an active driveway. We require that all visitors keep the driveway clear from any obstruction. Parking is available in the lot to the north of the entrance. A loading zone for heavy or cumbersome items is available alongside the north wall.
